As CEO of Clever, Trish leads with a deep belief in the power of technology to unlock learning for every student. She brings a unique blend of education and business expertise to the role—grounded in her early experience as a middle school teacher and shaped by decades of executive leadership in the tech industry.

Trish previously served as Clever’s VP of Customer Success and Sales, where she strengthened alignment between teams and deepened partnerships with schools and edtech providers—laying the foundation for long-term growth and impact. Before joining Clever, she held leadership roles at LinkedIn, where she scaled a global customer success organization, and at Demandbase as Chief Customer Officer.

A North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholar, Trish holds BS degrees in Business and Education and an MBA from Meredith College. She lives in Chapel Hill, NC.

As CFO, Amy oversees Clever’s finance and legal functions, driving operational excellence that empowers internal teams and fosters trusted partnerships with schools and application providers. She brings global finance leadership experience across the tech, aviation, and consumer building products industries. Prior to joining Clever, Amy was Group Financial Controller at Qantas Airways and a senior manager in Ernst & Young’s assurance practice, serving in both the San Francisco and Sydney offices.

Amy holds a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles. A native San Franciscan, she lives in the city with her husband and two children. She is a passionate advocate for public education and has served on the PTA board and the SFUSD Parent Advisory Council.

Jamie leads product, design, and research at Clever. Since joining in 2018, she’s focused on building tools that help schools around the world manage and maximize their use of edtech. She also leads accessibility initiatives and serves on Clever’s Trust team, reinforcing the company’s commitment to equitable, secure student experiences.

Beyond Clever, Jamie is a standing lecturer at UC Berkeley, where she teaches graduate students to design for mission-driven tech organizations. Her students have designed for Creative Commons, WorldReader, and RocketLearning.

Jamie previously held product and design leadership roles at Auction.com, Yahoo, and eBay. She holds a BA from New College of Florida and a Master’s from UC Berkeley. She lives in San Francisco near a small herd of bison.

Eric leads Clever’s engineering organization, guiding the development of secure, scalable infrastructure that supports digital learning for millions of students. Since joining in 2019, he has scaled the team, strengthened platform reliability, and championed best-in-class data privacy and security practices.

Prior to Clever, Eric spent over 16 years at Apple, where he helped build and scale iCloud from the ground up and later served as Senior Director of iCloud Engineering. He also held engineering leadership roles at Symantec and co-founded two companies, including Bitlocker.Eric holds a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and is a licensed private pilot—an endeavor that reflects his work style of precision, patience, and safety.

Phillip J. Mikula is Chief Revenue Officer at Clever, leads Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success towards driving sustainable growth while expanding impact across the primary education ecosystem. A creative seasoned education and technology executive, Phillip brings more than two decades of experience building high-performing go-to-market organizations and helping school systems succeed through trusted partnerships, aligned execution, and solutions designed to truly serve educators and students.

Timo leads Clever’s marketing team, overseeing go-to-market strategy, brand, growth, product marketing, and communications. Since joining in 2025, he has focused on expanding Clever’s reach and relevance, deepening engagement with schools and application partners, and driving strategic initiatives like international expansion and platform differentiation.

Prior to Clever, Timo was VP of Business Marketing at Reddit and Head of Business Marketing at Instagram, where he led global teams across product marketing, brand, research, creative, and communications. He brings nearly two decades of experience helping mission-driven technology companies scale with clarity and momentum.

Timo lives outside of Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife and two daughters. A proud girl dad, he’s passionate about building teams that connect storytelling with strategic impact.

Dominic leads Clever’s Sales organization, overseeing school and application partner growth across domestic and international markets. With a background as both a teacher and principal, he brings a deep understanding of K–12 needs to every partnership. At Clever, he’s focused on strengthening school and application partner relationships and aligning the sales team to support our network with secure, scalable edtech solutions.

Before joining Clever, Dominic held senior sales leadership roles at Accelerate Learning, IXL Learning, and Achieve3000—where he drove growth through strategic partnerships and high-performing teams.

A proud Texan by way of New Mexico, Dominic holds a BS in English Education and an MS in Education from Baylor University. He’s an empty nester, married with three sons, and enjoys golf and gardening.

Kate Schaff leads Strategy and Operations at Clever, overseeing business operations, analytics, customer support, and technical services. She partners with cross-functional leaders to set strategy, drive operational excellence, and scale systems and processes that support Clever’s growth while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Kate joined Clever in 2016 on the Support team, and has since held leadership roles across support, services, and operations. With deep roots in customer-facing work at Clever and earlier in her career, she brings a strong customer lens to building a scalable organization and believes that the best operations are grounded in a clear understanding of the people they serve.

She lives in Seattle, WA with her partner, son, and poodle.

As a teacher and tech director, he saw first-hand how data obstacles were quickly becoming the biggest barriers to innovation in education. Before co-founding Clever, Dan joined Teach for America and taught science at STRIVE Preparatory Schools in Denver before becoming their director of data and technology. He has a BA degree in Biology and Computer Science from Harvard. In his free time, Dan enjoys rock climbing and drinking craft beer (in that order).

As a board member and strategic advisor, Tyler helps oversee Clever’s long term strategic vision. Previously Tyler served for ten years as Clever’s CEO where, under his leadership, Clever grew to serve more than half of all U.S. K-12 students. In recognition of Clever’s impact on education, Tyler was named to Forbes’ “30 Under 30” alongside Dan and Rafael. Prior to co-founding Clever, Tyler was Vice President of Sales at PaperG. He has a MA degree in Statistics and a BA in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University.
