Prepare students for ACT and SAT exams with Method Test Prep

April 18, 2019 clever

This article is part of a series that spotlights learning apps available in the Clever Library, a place where teachers can discover and adopt great apps for their classrooms through the Clever portal.

Method Test Prep is a comprehensive ACT and SAT prep resource for students of all levels. The program’s logical, well-defined structure keeps students focused and engaged; at the same time, its flexibility allows teachers the latitude to assign the tasks of their choice and to monitor their students’ progress in a variety of ways.

Use checklists to assign and manage tasks

Both the ACT side and the SAT side of the program are based on a weekly checklist of tasks ranging from 5 to 25 minutes each. Using initial evaluations and the tasks over the subsequent weeks—which can be assigned to any extent and in any order—educators can guide students through a series of lessons covering all sections of the preferred test.

Exam lessons with peer review feedback

Each lesson, which may be text- or video-based, focuses on a specific topic or concept, presenting students with engaging examples modeled after the most current content and question styles tested by the given exam. At the end of every lesson is at least one quiz that tests students on the concepts covered. Once students submit their answers to a given question, they will receive instant feedback and comprehensive video and text explanations addressing both content and strategy. Teachers can choose to have students review their performance individually, or can evaluate the class’s results and review in a group setting. Method Test Prep’s robust monitoring tools, which include our Scores by Concept report, give teachers insight into topics their students must reinforce.

Practice exams under realistic conditions

At the end of each side of the program are two full-length, timed exams that enable students to practice taking complete tests under realistic conditions. Teachers and administrators can view and analyze all student data via downloadable reports. Several additional features allow students to create their own quizzes, build their vocabulary, and review more advanced topics to optimize their prep.
