Clever partners with Hour of Code

November 30, 2016 clever

Clever is proud to be a partner in the 2016 Hour of Code  for Computer Science Education Week: December 5-11!

The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching over 100 million students in over 180 countries. It’s a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. No experience is needed by students or teachers.

You can easily add our Hour of Code pack to your Clever Portal. Just go here, log in as a District Admin, and click “Add Category”.

All your students will get instant access to the following tutorials:

Star Wars: Learn to program droids, and create your own Star Wars game in a galaxy far, far away.

Frozen: Use code to join Anna and Elsa as they explore the magic and beauty of ice.

Classic Maze: Try the basics of computer science. Millions have given it a shot.

Flappy Code: Write your own game in less than 10 minutes!

We’re so excited to be able to offer these tutorials using Clever Instant Login, and, better yet, they are all compatible with Clever Badges!

(Student) identities are the new front door for attackers. Is your school ready?

The old model of school cybersecurity was built around networks — protect the edge, control the hardware, keep the bad stuff out. That model is gone. Today, your users are the front door. And in K-12, that means millions of student accounts — most of them guarded with just one simple password. That's the reality we dug into during a recent Cybersecure Live webinar. Here’s the breakdown of why the "handle is jiggling" and how to bolt the door.
