About five years ago, the perfect storm converged on Sunnyside Unified School District.
Until 2011, the Pima, Arizona school district of 14,000 students wasn’t particularly advanced in its adoption of learning technologies. But the convergence of a change-agent superintendent, some unexpected local investments in education, and federal funding through e-Rate set Sunnyside on a path toward serious technological overhaul.
What started as an investment in laptops in 2011 has evolved into a program of almost 100 percent digital curriculum—and offered Sunnyside’s tech team quite a data challenge.
