Wixie resolves manual data handling, streamlines onboarding for schools
Wixie, an established name in educational technology for over 20 years, provides a versatile online creativity tool enabling students and teachers to craft presentations, posters, eBooks, comics, animations, and more. Despite its robust offerings, Wixie faced significant challenges in onboarding students and teachers, which hampered their ability to maximize the tool’s potential. Partnering with Clever transformed their onboarding process, leading to increased efficiency and more time for creative learning.
Challenge: Manual data handling slows access to creativity tools
Wixie’s primary hurdle was the time-consuming and cumbersome onboarding process for students and teachers. Danielle, a Wixie partner specialist with over eleven years at the company, explains that the traditional method involved schools or districts sending CSV files containing user information. This data then required manual handling by Wixie’s team, including verification and uploading, resulting in delays and potential security risks. This protracted process not only consumed valuable time but also introduced opportunities for errors, disrupting the smooth initiation of creative activities for students and teachers.
Solution: Better data management and accessibility for schools
The partnership with Clever revolutionized Wixie’s onboarding process. Clever’s platform streamlined the onboarding workflow by automating data transfers and updates. Schools and districts could now set rules defining which students and teachers needed access to Wixie, and choose login methods such as LTI LMS, Clever Single Sign-On, or Google ID. Clever’s integration allowed for nightly updates of student information, ensuring that new students were added promptly without manual intervention. This seamless data management eliminated the need for time-consuming CSV file exchanges and manual data handling.
Impact: Wixie earns back time to focus on creativity and improve educational outcomes
The integration with Clever significantly reduced the time required for onboarding, allowing Wixie to allocate more resources towards enhancing their creativity tools. Danielle highlights that the automated process facilitated by Clever not only expedited account setup but also ensured data accuracy and security. With these improvements, Wixie could focus on its core mission of fostering creativity among students and teachers. The newfound efficiency enabled educators to swiftly integrate Wixie into their curriculum, providing students with immediate access to powerful creative tools. This partnership underscored the importance of seamless integration in edtech, demonstrating how efficient data management can amplify educational outcomes and inspire creativity in the classroom.
