How 1-2-3 Wellness is using AnySchool to say “any school, any student” and mean it
1-2-3 Wellness, a K-12 wellness platform reaching over 10,000 students nationwide, spent years running two separate systems side by side — one for Clever schools, one for everyone else. With Clever’s AnySchool, their small engineering team is starting to retire that second system, freeing up time for product work instead of duplicate maintenance.

1-2-3 Wellness is a research-based, daily check-in that empowers students to build personalized healthy habits and offer educators real-time data to support lifelong student well-being. Dr. Drew Schwartz, Founder and Chief Wellness Officer, has worked with the team to grow the platform to serve more than 10,000 students, including a recent expansion into New York City Public Schools, the largest school district in the country.
The Challenge: One product, two backend systems
Before working with Clever, 1-2-3 Wellness relied on manual data entry, with principals, counselors, and teachers typing in student rosters by hand. As Drew Schwartz recalls, busy educators “don’t have time to sit there and spend five hours inputting rosters,” and that friction “had us losing a couple of customers.”
Integrating with Clever solved onboarding for Clever schools, but districts outside Clever still needed their own path in — so 1-2-3 Wellness ended up building and running two systems in parallel.
The Solution: AnySchool as one system instead of two
With a six-person engineering team building major new features — a whole-child data view and a universal wellness screener — 1-2-3 Wellness wanted to focus on what matters- changing student lives- and maintaining two codebases took attention away from their core mission. AnySchool let the team consolidate onto a single system while still reaching schools outside Clever.
1-2-3 Wellness’s first AnySchool deployment was a specialized school in Illinois serving students with emotional and behavioral challenges, a setup that required extra coordination with the school’s IT director and counselor but went smoothly for a first rollout. Drew says the team now works from “a cohesive, unified, singular system,” with “real time savings” whenever they connect to AnySchool.
The Impact: Backing up the mission with reach
1-2-3 Wellness is candid that AnySchool usage is still small in absolute numbers — but the team sees it as insurance for future growth, especially as it expands into rural districts, like those in Northern California, the midwest and beyond, that are less likely to already be on Clever.
For 1-2-3 Wellness, a company built around the idea that every student deserves access to personalized wellness tools, AnySchool closes the gap between the mission statement and what the product can actually deliver, regardless of what technology a school runs.
Looking ahead, Drew hopes to deepen the partnership with Clever beyond the integration itself. “If we can help more kids, count us in,” he says, noting that together, 1-2-3 Wellness and Clever are providing “life-enhancing tools that students all across the country desperately need and deserve.”
